I really feel for some odd reason the the origins of 1337 be taught. I mean it IS a freakin entirely new sublanguage that piggybacks on modern US english yet is so unique and has grown so much since the beginings of the internet that it has basicaly become its own laguage and we SHOULD teach its beginings before they are lost to the constant flood of newcomers to the web. How many people actually know about 1337 and of that how many know where it came from and what it is there for? I fear its a knowledge that could be lost with time if not brought to light...sounds like good material for a book... hmm 1337 for Dummies anyone?
